Loden clothing has a rich history and is known for its durability and functionality. Originating from the Alpine regions of Austria, loden is a type of wool fabric that is thick, water-resistant, and traditionally comes in an earthy green color. The fabric is made from wool which is loosely woven and then subjected to a process called fulling. This process, similar to felting, makes the fabric dense and weather-resistant. Historically, loden was used by farmers, shepherds, and huntsmen to protect against the harsh Alpine winters.
